Head of Fonterra Farm Source Canterbury, Charles Fergusson caught up with The Country Early Edition's Dom George today for an update on the mycoplasma bovis situation.

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) have been doing a huge number of tests says Fergusson and out of 16,000 samples of milk only six have tested positive. All six positive tests like back to the Van Leeuwen Group farm where the outbreak originally happened.

Next for MPI is understanding how the cattle disease came into the country and what to do now m. bovis now it is in New Zealand.

Also in today's interview: Charles updates Dom on Fonterra's milk collection numbers, wet weather woes, winter milk and the co-op's annual results release.
