About 140 people attended a public meeting at Papakaio near Oamaru this week for the latest update on the mycoplasma bovis outbreak confirmed on two Van Leeuwen Dairy Group properties in the Waimate district.

Cara Gregan attended that meeting and spoke to The Country about the frustration farmers are feeling waiting for results from cattle being tested.

Cara and her husband John farm a neighbouring property to the Van Leeuwen Dairy Group farms.

Gregan says although it is taking a while to get any answers, she believes MPI staff "are doing their best for us."
