Jamie Mackay caught up with Marc Ellis at the Hilux New Zealand Rural Games this weekend and was impressed with his haystacking abilities.

As a Toyota ambassador Ellis attends the games every year but Jamie wants to dig deeper and find out if the former All Black has ever worked on a farm.

Marc is no stranger to spinning a yarn and his long-winded response regarding his rural experience could in fact be a tall tale.

However, there's no doubt about Ellis' abilities in the egg throwing and catching contest.

Unfortunately he said he was suffering from a shoulder injury this year, but he was hoping Dame Valerie Adams would do the throwing so he could focus on catching.
