The Country: Don Carson is the PR man for the Forest Owners Association. He says his phone is running hot because everyone suddenly wants to plant a tree to mitigate GHG emissions...

Don Carson is the PR guru for the Forest Owners Association. He had a chat to The Country's Jamie Mackay today about how his industry is experiencing a bit of a Renaissance recently.

Environmental issues such as greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) have been in the news lately; with one plan suggesting New Zealand reduce pastoral livestock by up to 35 per cent to remedy the problem.

One way to help the environment is to plant trees to mitigate GHG effects. Don Carson has done his sums and has some interesting facts on how many trees we'd need to plant.

Dr Mike Joy has suggested we should get rid of all dairy cows on the Canterbury Plains. Don Carson has other ideas.

Have a listen to the Don Carson Farming Muster in the audio above.
