Fonterra's Milk for Schools programme has just celebrated its 5th anniversary this year but it has also hit another milestone - 100 million servings of milk.
Fonterra Regional Head for Northland, Mike Borrie caught up with The Country Early Edition's Rowena Duncum to talk about how the dairy co-op celebratedthis impressive achievement.
Borrie says there's a small team behind the Milk for Schools programme but they do "a massive amount of work," and that Fonterra farmers should be really proud of this "exceptional milestone."
"It's a fantastic way for us to give back to the community," says Borrie.
Around 700 farmers attended Fonterra's My Connect Conference last week where they were treated to a song from Auckland's St Joseph's School.
"It was great to see the kids that the Milk for School programme impacts," says Borrie who was impressed with one student throwing in a few impromptu dance moves.
