The Country: Fonterra's Chief Operating Officer talks about the latest GDT result, (the sixth positive result in a row), and he also has a scoop!

Fonterra's Chief Operating Officer Miles Hurrell spoke to The Country's Dom George today about the latest Global Dairy Trade Event, which is the sixth positive result in a row.

Dairy prices have risen slightly overall but the important whole milk power price has slipped nearly 3 per cent. Miles reckons dairy farmers will have a spring in their step regardless.

Another issue on Fonterra's agenda at the moment is the announcement of new standards around Palm Kernel Extract (PKE) that cows are being fed on farm.

Hurrell updates Dom on the latest developments on PKE and what it means for farmers, along with the reasoning behind the new standards.

Have a listen to the full interview in the audio clip above.
