Tracy Brown was getting a bit fed up with the negative attention attached to farming at the moment so she contacted The Country and volunteered to be part of the Farmers are Good Buggers Too series.

Tracy is a dairy farmer and also heavily involved in the rural community. In fact she is so active in agricultural groups it's a wonder she manages to get any work done on her Matamata farm.

Proud dairy farmers who care about the environment, Tracy and her husband Wynn started planting trees 20 years ago and have retired 10 hectares of wetlands and another 10 hectares of trees on their farm to ensure the environment is protected.

Not surprisingly the Browns were the 2010 Waikato Ballance Farm Environment Award Winners.
