The Country Early Edition: Dr Tim Mackle caught up with Dom George for an update on Edgecumbe and what's happening with DairyNZ.

There are around fifteen farms heavily underwater after the Edgecumbe flooding according to DairyNZ CEO Dr Tim Mackle. He caught up with The Country Early Edition's Dom George today to discuss the aftermath of the flood along with and what's happening in the dairy industry.

Dr Mackle says that the dairy industry as a whole is "pretty well geared up to jump in and help farmers' out" when incidents like this happen. Fonterra and DairyNZ have people on the ground helping farmers, along with local businesses chipping in to get stock moved around.

Dr Tim also talks about Horizons Regional Council's One Plan, whether farmers are preaching to the converted when it comes to trying to get the word out about agriculture and DairyNZ's regional Farmers' Forums.
