Understanding mycoplasma bovis can help alleviate farmer concerns says Dr Tim Mackle.
The DairyNZ CEO told The Country Early Edition's Dom George that the cattle disease is relatively slow moving, is not airborne and the Ministry for Primary Industries has locked down the affected farms.
Dr Mackle says many people
"are putting in long days" and working alongside MPI to contain the outbreak.
So while it is a concern that mycoplasma bovis made it to our shores, it is comforting to know that a lot of effort is going in to controlling it.
