There is a must-read book being released next titled The Resilient Farmer. Today The Country's Jamie Mackay caught up with the man behind the inspirational story, Doug Avery.

Farmers are no strangers to doing it tough and Doug Avery is no exception. However, Avery has turned his difficult life experiences into a career of trying to help and inspire others who may find themselves facing adversity.

In today's interview Jamie and Doug discuss how he gained the nickname "The Lucerne Lunatic" and also Avery's hopes that his new book will help build "emotional resilience" in those who read it.
