The Country - Don Carson is the PR man for the New Zealand Forrest Owners Association. Today he shares his thoughts on Arbor Day, Myrtle Rust and the Ruataniwha Dam.

The outbreak of the myrtle rust disease is having an effect on Arbor Day, which is celebrated on June 5.

The PR man for the New Zealand Forrest Owners Association Don Carson spoke to The Country's Jamie Mackay today about the history of Arbor Day and how this year it's not a good idea to plant any trees from the myrtle family.

Other topics in today's interview include an update on the Ruataniwha Dam and the Southern North Island Wood Council Awards.

Finally Jamie and Don discuss the theory that The Country radio show is about 18th Century lesbians. What?

Have a listen to the full interview in the audio clip above.
