The Country: Labour’s Primary Industry Spokesman begrudgingly praises the PM but is less complimentary about the state of the meat and wool industries.

Labour's Primary Industry Spokesman Damien O'Connor is impressed by Prime Minister Bill English's shearing prowess at the World Shearing and Woolhandling Championships.

What he's less impressed with is the National Party's attitude to the wool industry.

He believes English should get Nathan Guy to focus on the promotion of this "incredible raw material".

O'Connor caught up with The Country's Jamie Mackay today to have his say about the woes of the meat and wool industries, along with the problems facing Westland Milk Products.

Finally Jamie and Damien talk about how they're looking forward to National Lamb Day.
