Butter will continue to star in this week's Global Dairy Trade Event says ASB Rural Economist Nathan Penny.
While this is great for rural New Zealand, consumers will face higher prices for butter in the supermarkets.
Penny reckons there will be a "pretty good" auction over night when he spoke to The Country 's Dom George today and says the butter and milk fat "stories" will get the auction out of the "holding pattern" it has been in for 2017 so far.
Also in this interview, Nathan gives Dom an overview of the lamb and beef markets.
