Beef + Lamb New Zealand has revised its farm profit forecast before tax up to $126,000 for all classes of sheep and beef farms which is up 39 per cent on last season.
Chief Economist for Beef + Lamb New Zealand Andrew Burtt spoke to The Country's Jamie Mackay about a good season for sheep and beef farmers.
Lamb and beef are both likely to break the $3 billion mark for the first time and even mutton is doing well with strong prices in markets.

Burtt says the main drivers for sheepmeat prices are supply and demand.
"Global demand for sheepmeat is strong and that's important. On the other side of it, the supplies are pretty tight."
