Unseasonable weather paused on Saturday, allowing the sun to shine on the Kaikohe A&P Association's 91st annual annual show.

The programme included all sorts of indoor competitions for all ages, including baking, floral artistry and numerous hobbies, but the day really belonged to creatures great and small, from horses (large and miniature) and dairy cattle to rare breeds and pattable pets.

Magician and balloon shaper Mike Easterbrook was there to entertain, along with musician Jack Tane, Prairie Swing and Hush Dance Studio, while the wood choppers and shearers attracted their usual audience.

Debbie Beadle was there with her camera for the Northland Age.
