Upper Clutha-raised country signer Jody Direen is a finalist in the New Zealand Country Music Awards best country music album category.

She has been nominated for her third studio album, Shake Up, released last year.

The album topped the New Zealand Heat Seekers and the New Zealand iTunes Country charts.

The winners will be announced on June 1.
