A dairy farmer from Hikurangi has taken over the position of vice president of the Whangarei Agricultural and Pastoral Society, after elections at the annual general meeting on August 23.

Evan Smeath has taken over from Kevin Fraser, who has been on the executive committee for 15 years.

Pipiwai dairy farmer Rachel Blackley was elected on to the committee to replace Smeath.

Chris Mason, CEO of the Whangārei Agricultural and Pastoral Society, said the team were now gearing up and selling trade sites for the annual A&P Show which kicks off on December 1 at the Barge Showgrounds Events Centre.
