Hawkes Bay vegetable exporter placed in receivership

One of Hawkes Bay's largest apple and vegetable exporting companies has been placed in receivership by its business partner.

Two companies, Applecorp and CMB Brands, owned and run by Havelock North man Chris Morrison and French company A. Dewavrin Fils (ADF), make up Millennium Foods Group.

ADF, a 50 per cent joint-venture partner in Millennium Foods Group - formerly Hawkes Bay's largest squash and asparagus exporter - appointed a receiver to take over management of Applecorp and CMB Brands.

Receiver John Managh said yesterday that the two companies no longer operated and would be wound up.
