The decision was made to airlift the victim to hospital using the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter.
A WorkSafe spokesperson said they had been notified of an agricultural incident and said initial indications are that an ATV was involved.
“Our inspectors are attending the scene to gather information to understand the circumstances of the event.”
A WorkSafe spokesperson said agriculture was Aotearoa’s deadliest industry in 2024, with 14 workers killed.
“Vehicles such as ATVs, were the leading cause of death and injury on farms across the country, which is why WorkSafe’s new strategy targets about a quarter of our future inspectorate activity towards agriculture.”
