The Mt Mable Angus Stud of Kevin and Megan Friel, recently relocated to Kumeroa, had a very good first sale at their new selling complex on Jackson Rd. All 41 of the bulls were sold for an average price of $10,060 under the hammer.

Of the 41 bulls sold, 32 went to regular Mt Mable clients, including the top price bull sold to Rangatira Angus stud from Gisborne.

Rangatira Angus has previously purchased Mt Mable Thor 660 who has bred exceptionally well, with quality progeny including Rangatira 13-38, sold for a New Zealand on-farm auction record price of $100,000 in 2015.

Another bull lot 23 was sold to the newly formed Okaka Stud near Taihape for $11,500. The average weight of the bulls on sale day was 816kg. Kevin and Megan are delighted with this result and thank all their buyers, under bidders, helpers and PGG Wrightson for their support on the day.
