More than 100 fleeces were donated by fine-wool growers for the competition and the winners were announced at a function in Queenstown on Fridaynight. Glenthorne Station, near Lake Coleridge, was named overall champion after also winning the fine category.

Medium micron: Cornaig 1, Gidding Downs 2, Godley Peaks 3. Fine: Glenthorne 1, Glenshee 2, Moutere 3. Super fine: Ahuriri Downs 1, Quailburn Downs 2, Matarae 3. Ultra fine: Nine Mile 1, Benmore 2, Lindis Downs 3. Overall champion: Glenthorne.
