New Zealand Wool Testing Authority chief executive Duane Knowles (left) and customer services manager Phil Cranswick admire the winning entry in the Child Cancer Fleece Competition.

More than 100 fleeces were donated by fine-wool growers for the competition and the winners were announced at a function in Queenstown on Friday night.
Glenthorne Station, near Lake Coleridge, was named overall champion after also winning the fine category.

Results were. -

Medium micron: Cornaig 1, Gidding Downs 2, Godley Peaks 3. Fine: Glenthorne 1, Glenshee 2, Moutere 3. Super fine: Ahuriri Downs 1, Quailburn Downs 2, Matarae 3. Ultra fine: Nine Mile 1, Benmore 2, Lindis Downs 3. Overall champion: Glenthorne.
