There was lots of fun in the sunshine at St Joseph's School Mission Day on Friday.

Combining calf and lamb day with a fun day aimed at raising money for charity, the day gave pupils the chance to show off their school work to their families, as well as enjoying games and market stalls in the sunshine.

The annual cake auction, in which year 8 pupils each make and decorate a cake to be auctioned off in the afternoon, was popular, with bids coming in quickly on all the cakes on display in the hall during the silent auction.

Senior pupils are also required to organise stalls and games for the whole school to enjoy, and this year stalls included face painting, Christmas decorations for sale and raffles as well as plenty of skill-based games.

Pupils came in mufti for the day, "paying" for the privilege by way of the donation of a grocery item for Stratford Community Foodbank.

In total more than $6500 was raised during the day.
