The Country Early Edition's Dom George interviews Bronco signing Rory Ferguson:
Rising footy star Rory Ferguson is about to embark on a journey many aspiring young sportspeople can only dream about.
The 17-year-old deputy head boy at John McGlashan College in Dunedin has signed to play rugby league for theBrisbane Broncos under super-coach Wayne Bennett.
When he lands in Brisbane he will have come a long way from his humble beginnings on the family dairy farm in Milton, South Otago.
Humble is certainly a word that comes to mind when speaking to Ferguson.
The young man, (who also plays rugby for his school's first XV), was spotted by NRL scouts when captaining the New Zealand under 16 rugby league side and subsequent internationals for his country.
Ferguson has fended off a number of other offers from various rugby league and union franchises before deciding to opt for the Broncos.
Despite all the attention at such a young age he says he will miss the farm the most.
