Feilding's annual Rural day entices country loving families

Linda's Attic came first-equal in the Feilding's Best Dressed Window competition..

The threat of rain didn't stop hundreds of families turning out for Feilding's annual Rural Day - Wild Wild West last Friday.

Local celebrity William Waiirua also joined the festivities with Game of Thrones actor Joe Naufahu, who played one of the Dothraki on season six of the hit series.

Also first equal, The Kreative Mix NZ/ Beauty LMN window display was made entirely from things found around the store.

Manchester Square was filled with farm animals along with family activities including a wild west photo booth, ride on bucking bull, tractor and pony rides, sheep racing and a free morning tea for children.

Aimee Hopping, 5, enjoyed some special attention from the baby goats.

NZME manager Shona Lingham judged Rural Day's Best Dressed Window, giving first equal to Linda's Attic and Kreative Mix NZ/ Beauty LMN.

Cooper Greenfeild, 4, did his best to stay up on the bucking bull.

"Linda's Attic was bright, colourful and eye-catching. I loved there was so much to look at.

"I loved the Kreative mix NZ/Beauty LMN concept that took us from 1800's rural New Zealand through to the 20th century.

The TRC Toyota Ltd team manage to catch and brand a sheep as they competed against Backbone NZ.

"The theme was really impressive and looked amazing on the day," Shona said.
