Selection of Northland competitors for the 2017 Hilux Rural Games at Palmerston North will be held for the first time at the Whangarei A&P Show on December 3.
Regional representatives for shearing, gumboot throwing, egg throwing and catching, heavyweight Highland contests - and possibly other events - will be chosenafter competing at the Barge Park Showgrounds in Maunu for the third natonal Rural Games on March 11-12 next year.
Meanwhile, trade sites at the showgrounds are selling right now. Trade exhibitor information and show schedules are available online at whangareishow.co.nz or by phoning 4383109.
Organisers are calling for enthusiastic trade exhibitors to join them in celebrating everything that is great about agriculture in Northland at the show.
New branding featuring a new two-tone sunburst background signals a fresh look at this year's show, which promises loads of action and fun. The show will be even more remarkable as everything is happening on One Epic Show Day - Saturday, December 3.
Businesses from all sectors are invited, especially those who relish the hustle and bustle of keen crowds of show-goers eager to try new things, make purchases and interact with sellers and demonstrators in a convivial, outdoor environment like no other in Whangarei.
Activities will include old favourites such as wood-chopping and home industries featuring baking, photography, crafts and other traditional competitions including livestock, mounted games and equestrian events.¦
