The Spring Show from October 17-19 is going to be “epic”, says Poverty Bay A&P Association’s new general manager.

Lana Davy moved into the role earlier this year after the departure of Erica McNeil.

“I’m so excited to be the new GM and the support I have received in the role from the association members and others has been unreal - just fantastic,” Davy said.

Entries for the Show competition classes that are still open have been coming in “thick and fast”.

“We’ve got 163 dogs entered in the sheep dog trials so far.”

Entries for the Home Industries closed at about 1600, which was on a par with previous years.

Dancing and goat entries have closed while entries remain open in the shearing and equestrian competitions.

There is no woodchopping competition this year.

“The trades space is almost completely full,” Davy said. “We have only a few sites left in the Event Centre and in the Lifestyle Marquee.

“We’re looking forward to an epic show this year as we build towards the 150th event in 2025.”
