Changes through amalgamation of some of the smaller stock classes to make them more competitive and to help with judging will affect entries this year but it will make the prime sheep and beef section of the Dannevirke A&P Show run smoothly, according to organiser Willy Phillip.

He hopes lots of people who do not normally visit the yards, will come to see what prime stock look like.

To help, the finalists in the prime sheep will be on display before the judges in the shearing shed.

There were not many entries in the pet lamb section, with many having been put into the flock but Willy hopes those children who still retain their pets will bring them along.

In the junior stock judging there was keen interest last year and Willy says he will take entries on the day.
