Tomlinson said St John would also bring a 1970s ambulance and the club generally donated about $1000.
Rotorua St John area committee chairman Ross Burns said this year the money raised would help fund the Rotorua St John Health Shuttle.
The shuttle is run by volunteers and transports patients to appointments they can't reach alone.
Tomlinson encouraged those who hadn't previously been interested in cars to attend.
"They'll see local cars they would generally not see driving around often. These are kept in garages. Also it's an automotive history of New Zealand and it's free."
The event will be held at the Village Green between 10am-2pm on January 21.
The Soundshell Market will be running at the same time as the car show.
