STORTFORD LODGE STOCK SALE

Rising meat schedules and rapidly growing grass made for a strong store sale at Stortford Lodge yesterday.

Prices for the big yarding of about 9000 lambs of mostly good quality went up on last week's heights, as buyers bid briskly.

Again much of the yarding came from the Wairoa-Gisborne area.

The yarding of about 325 store cattle also sold to strong demand to a full rostrum of buyers from Hawke's Bay. There was some support from buyers from Christchurch and Taranaki.

A small yarding of about 300 ewes also sold well.
The cattle offering was 15 cows, all but one of them angus, and they also sold well.
