The Company has been described by Australian reviewer Sean Sennett as a "master class in bluegrass" playing a mix of traditional arrangements and their own compositions.
The band is made up of expatriate Kiwi George Jackson (now based in Nashville) playing fiddle and banjo, two Australians and a Norwegian.
Jackson,along with guitar "guru" Jamie Clark from Brisbane, mandolin player and "deft tenor" vocalist Michael Patrick from Townsville and double bass player Markus Karlsen are touring New Zealand promoting their Six And Five album released late last year.
According to Sennett, The Company has a passion for "high-energy original and traditional acoustic bluegrass music".
He describes their playing and singing as "crisp, melodic and soulful". The band is reputed to exhibit a wry humour and engaging camaraderie to be enjoyed alongside their musical virtuosity.
