Cows sold well at Rongotea.

Cows sold well at Rongotea.

It was a very small sale at Rongotea today due to the change of day and was mainly dominated by service bulls with a small selection of other ages and breeds reported Darryl Harwood of NZ Farmers Livestock.

* 2 year Friesian — Hereford steers 477 kg — 545 kg realised $2.60/kg — $2.71/kg, Shorthorn steers 457 kg made $1180 and cross bred steers 470 kg made $1090.

* 2 year Hereford bulls 725 kg — 777 kg made $2.44/kg — $2.48/kg, and Angus bulls 455 kg — 472 kg made $2.74/kg — $2.92/kg. Friesian bulls 455 kg — 540 kg made $2.53/kg — $2.69/kg and Friesian — Hereford bulls 405 kg made $960.

* Yearling cross bred bulls 265 kg made $510.

* Yearling Friesian- Hereford cross heifers 285 kg — 337 kg realised $2.55/kg — $2.63/kg.

* Weaner Friesian bulls 114 kg — 147 kg made $400 — $460, Friesian- Hereford cross bulls 114 kg — 130 kg made $490 — $500 and cross bred bulls 120 kg — 145 kg made $350.

* Weaner Friesian- Hereford heifers 126 kg made $490.
