Levin Sale Carrfields Stock Report:

Strong sheep sale on a par with last week and also outside markets.

Sheep - fat ewes $95 - $170, fat lambs $120 - $140, store lambs $100 - $120. Cattle - Hereford bulls $750, Rsg 2 yr Fr/Hfrd steers $900 - $1100, Freisian steers $1000, Fr/Hfd 2 yr hfrs $800 - $950, Fr hfrs $550, ylg Fr hfrs $630, wnr Fr/hfd hfrs $500. Rongotea Sale NZ Farmers Livestock Ltd:

The cattle pens that hadn't seen much use in recent weeks had good numbers of quality white-face steers and heifers through them at Rongotea this week, NZFL livestock agent John Watson reported.

2 ½ year white-face heifers 405 kg - 482 kg traded between $2.20 - $2.48/kg

18 month white-face steers 350 kg - 470 kg made $920 - $1300/head. 18 month white-face heifers 330 kg - 442 kg fetched $2.40 - $2-81 / kg; AngusX heifers 388 kg made $1000. Friesian 18 month bulls 282 kg made $2.05 / kg

15 month AngusX steers 400 kg made $970 and white-face steers 395 kg made $950.

White-face autumn born yearling steers 277 kg - 347 kg made $730 - $920. White-face yearling heifers 214 kg - 315 kg fetched $2.40 - $2.70 / kg.

Weaner Friesian bulls 130 kg - 228 kg made $395 - $550; Angus and AngusX bulls 205- 315 kg made $530 - $870; Jersey bulls 120 kg - 200 kg made $1.25 - $1.50 / kg; white-face bulls 105 kg - 267 kg made $390 - $660; Simmental bulls 271 kg made $2.61 / kg and crossbred bulls 137 kg made $1.82/kg.

Weaner Angus and AngusX heifers 129 kg - 257 kg made $400 - $690; white-face heifers 115 kg - 182 kg made $360 - $510; white-face steers 157 kg - 160 kg made $480 - $540 / kg.

Friesian boner cows 500 kg - 530 kg traded between $1.54 - $1.71 / kg, and crossbred boners 465 kg made $600.
