A very strong market for all classes of livestock on offer.

Sheep - fat ewes $120 - $170, lighter ewes $100 - $120, fat lambs $130 - $150, store lambs $100 - $130. Cattle - Autumn born M/G heifers $800, F/H wnr steers $600 - $690, Angus steers $550, F/H wnr hfrs $515, lighter sorts $500, Angus hfrs $500.

All stock is in short supply.

Rongotea Sale NZ Farmers Livestock Ltd

It was another small sale at Rongotea this week as vendors hold out for more rain before bringing their cattle out reported Darryl Harwood of NZ Farmers Livestock.

Two-year empty Friesian heifers 350 kg made $760.

Yearling Hereford bulls 365 kg made $800.

Weaner Angus cross steers 159 kg made $555.

Weaner Friesian bulls 130 kg - 230 kg made $420 - $650 and Friesian - Hereford bulls 100 kg - 215 kg made$410 - $640.

Weaner Friesian - Hereford heifers 105 kg - 142 kg made $410 - $580, Angus cross heifers 168 kg made $450 and Charolais cross heifers 95 kg made $450.

Friesian cross boner cows 425 kg - 532 kg made $1.41/kg - $1.67/kg and White Galloway boners 455 kg - 712 kg made $1.96/kg.

There were over 100 calves for sale with autumn calving underway.

Friesian bull calves made $210 - $270, Friesian - Hereford bull calves made $180 - $335 and Angus cross bull calves made $150 - $230. Friesian - Hereford heifer calves made $140 - $250 and Angus cross heifer calves made $150 - $180.
