The rostrum at Rongotea provided a bit of shade and respite from the hot day on Wednesday, and prices warmed up accordingly on a relatively small market.

2 year Angus cross steers 408kg made up to $1200 ($2.94).

2 year white face heifers 322kg-397kg made up to $1135 ($2.70-$2.85).
3 year Hereford bulls 654kg made $1920 ($2.93).

Yearling Friesian bulls 255kg made up to $765 ($3.00). Crossbreed bulls 245kg made up to $710 ($2.86).

Weaner Friesian bulls 103kg made $495 ($4.79), Friesian cross bulls 125kg-175kg made $490-$640 ($3.65-$3.92). White face weaner bulls 107kg-235kg made $560-$740 ($4.27-$5.21).

Weaner crossbreed heifers 92kg-151kg made $245-$300 ($2.00-$2.66) and white face heifers 135kg-267kg made $500-$770 ($2.87-$3.70).

Weaner white face steers 170kg made up to $630 ($3.70). Crossbreed boner cows 517kg made $870 ($1.68), Friesian boner cows 582kg made $1020 ($1.75).

In the calf pens, Red factor Friesian bull calves made $205.

Weaner pigs made $65-$82.

Ewes made $62-$100, wethers made up to $135 and mixed sex lambs made $57-$132.
