With the weather drying things out it provided a steady sale at the Levin Sale.

Feilding Sale is gaining strength from week to week, with larger yardings getting strong support from outside areas.

The dairy beef sales have started strongly.

Calves - Frsn hfrs $160, Ayrshire hfr $90, Sim x hfr $80. Sheep - Ewes $71 - $150, hoggets (lambs teeth) $116 - $133, new season spring lambs $73 - $116, ewes with lambs at foot $77. Cattle - Cow with calf at foot $990, cow $810, steers $700 - $850, heifers $680 - $980, wnr hfrs $410.

Another warm day greeted buyers to Rongotea today, with the first of the big lines of Friesian weaner bulls being put forward for sale.

2 year white face steers 401 kg - 404 kg made $1,280 - $1330 ($3.17 - $3.31) and beef cross steers 380 kg - 620 kg made up to $1830 ($2.48 - $3.00). Cross breed steers 513 kg made $1430 ($2.79). 2 year Hereford bulls 720 kg made $2190 ($3.04).
2 year white face heifers 377 kg made $1110 ($2.94).

Yearling white face steers 330 kg made $930 ($3.37 - $3.61), Friesian steers 302 kg - 370 kg made up to $1080 ($2.47 - $2.92) and cross breed steers 200 kg - 305 kg made up to $700 ($2.30 - $2.90).

Yearling white face bulls 277 kg made $740 ($2.67), cross breed bulls 247 kg - 375 kg made up to $900 ($2.13 - $2.44) and Jersey bulls 235 kg - 370 kg made up to $840 ($2.27 - $2.34).

Yearling white face heifers 242 kg - 335 kg made up to $950 ($2.45 - $2.94), Friesian heifers 293 kg made $670 ($2.29) and Galloway cross heifers 220 kg made $515 ($2.34).
Yearling Friesian bulls 387 kg made up to $1030 ($2.66) and cross breed bulls 234kg - 356kg made up to $920 ($2.57).
