With spring coming into play it definitely showed at the Levin stock sale this week.
Calves - Friesian bulls, bigger types $140-$170 with smaller types making $75-$130. W/F bulls $170-$180, a range of W/F heifers, bigger ones fetched $220-$265 with the remainder $120-$165.

A small handful of Devon cross bulls made $135-$180.

There were a few pens of sheep, ewes made $91-$132 and lambs made $100-$110, ewes with lambs at foot fetching $75-$82.

A good yarding of cattle, quality steers made $900, South Devon $1150-$1205, heifers made $$640-$775, some autumn born heifers fetching $470.

This week's sale saw a good yarding of Angus cross cattle to suit all buyers with weaners, yearlings and 2 year cattle of both sexes available.

The calf pens were again full of beef cross calves with solid prices keeping vendors satisfied.

Two-year-old white face steers 407kg-452kg made up to $1320 ($2.82-$2.92), Angus cross steers 352kg made $1060 ($2.99) and Friesian steers 405kg made $1110 ($2.93).
Two-year-old year Angus cross heifers 381kg-482kg made up to $1280 ($2.66-$3.08) and Friesian heifers 425kg-430kg made up to $1080 ($1.86-$2.54).

Yearling Angus cross steers 212kg-233kg made up to $840 ($3.60-$3.82).

Yearling Friesian bulls 215kg-220kg made up to $760 ($3.30-$3.53) and white face bulls 175kg-375kg made up to $1210 ($3.23-$3.83). Jersey bulls 155kg-222kg made up to $740 ($2.00-$3.33), Ayrshire bulls 355kg made $1060 ($2.99) and cross breed bulls 200 kg made $545 ($2.72).

Yearling white face heifers 150kg-213kg made up to $750 ($2.60-$4.14), Angus cross heifers 150kg-228kg made up to $805 ($3.52-$4.00) and Simmental cross heifers 240kg made $725 ($3.02).

Autumn white face bulls 117kg-135kg made up to $610 ($4.15-$4.83), Friesian bulls 138kg-145kg made up to $660 ($3.38-$4.77) and Angus cross bulls 195kg made $670 ($3.44).

Autumn white face heifers 97kg-145kg made up to $575 ($3.97-$4.81) and Angus cross heifers 195kg made $600 ($3.10).

In calf cross breed cows made $1210, in calf cross breed heifers made $1360 and in calf Friesian heifers made $1130.

Weaner pigs made $60-$90.

Ewes with lambs at foot made $51-$80, 2 tooth ewes made $82-$110 and MA ewes made $83.

Mixed sex lambs made $90-$150.

Big Friesian bull calves made $140-$170 and smaller calves made $60-$100. Big white face bull calves made $200-$280 and smaller calves made $80-$190. White Galloway cross bull calves made $400. Big white face heifer calves made $200-$280 and smaller calves made $80-$180. White Galloway cross heifer calves made $330 and Charolais cross heifer calves made $225-$260.

Dannevirke calf sale: Big Friesian bull calves made $170-$250 and smaller calves made $60-$100. Big white face bull calves made $180-$260 and smaller calves made $80-$140. Angus cross bull calves made $180. Big white face heifer calves made $200-$280 and smaller calves made $60-$160.
