There was good demand at Levin and Rongotea yards this week.

Levin Stock Sale

Levin Sale light on numbers but strong markets for all stock.
Four-day-old calves big numbers, prices were back on last week but firm on outside markets.

Freis bulls $100-$180, F/H bulls $140-$170, F/H heifers $140-$170, mixed sex xbreed $20-$40. Sheep — fat ewes $160, lambs $140-$150. Cattle — heavy bull $1700, fat cows $700-$800, heifers R2 $1650, ylg hfrs $400-$700.

The store market is very strong with plenty of demand. Looking for all types of store cattle and sheep, with strong inquiries for fat stock. Phone for more info, David Haworth 0274 504 133.

2 year Friesian cross steers 505kg made $1250 ($2.48).
2 year Friesian bulls 380kg made $900 ($2.36), white face bulls 360kg made $810 ($2.25), Red Devon bulls 460kg made $1010 ($2.20) and Jersey bulls 388kg made $870 ($2.24).

2 year white face heifers 265kg-375kg made up to $1090 ($2.45-$3.03), Simmental cross heifers 360kg made $920 ($2.56) and Angus cross heifers 358kg made $900 ($2.51). Empty Friesian heifers 345kg-465kg made up to $1180 ($2.02-$2.54).

Yearling white face steers 243kg made $860 ($3.54), Angus cross steers 275kg made $770 ($2.80), Red Devon steers 270kg made $780 ($2.90) and exotic steers 272kg made $750 ($2.75).

Yearling Friesian bulls 187kg made $490 ($2.62) and exotic bulls 322kg made $840 ($2.61).

Yearling white face heifers 205kg-232kg made up to $760 ($2.44-$3.27), Red Devon heifers 295kg made $875 ($2.97) and Angus cross heifers 215kg made $640 ($2.98). Charolais cross heifers 310kg made $995 ($3.21) and Belted Galloway heifers 167kg-205kg made up to $590 ($2.78-$3.06).

Weaner Murray Grey steers 120kg made $460 ($3.83) and Short Horn steers 130kg made $450 ($3.54).
