Carrfields Stock report.

A large calf sale at the Levin selling centre which went very well and held up on outside markets with Fresian bulls tops $160 to $180, med $120 to $160, smaller $80 to $120, F/H bulls $160 to $220, F/H heifers $110 to $130.

For better ones - small $40 to $100, xbred & Aryshire $20 to $50. Ewes and lambs $90 all counted.

Ylg F/H heifers $530 top $580, wnr heifers $420 - $450, wnr bulls $490.

NZ Farmers Livestock Ltd

There was a smaller cattle sale while the calf pens were filled to capacity, providing a good selection for rearers at Rongotea reported Darryl Harwood of NZ Farmers Livestock.
2 year Friesian – Hereford cross steers 475 kg made $1350.

2 year Hereford bulls 590 kg made $1600 and Friesian bulls 415 kg made $950.

2 year Friesian heifers 277 kg - 380 kg made $2.09/kg - $2.39/kg and cross bred heifers 415 kg made $940.

Yearling cross bred steers 392 kg made $970.

Yearling beef cross bulls 175 kg – 250 kg made $2.04/kg - $2.34/kg.

Yearling Friesian – Hereford cross heifers 182 kg made $610 and Angus cross heifers 190 kg made $550.

Weaner beef cross steers 110 kg made $390.

Weaner Friesian bulls 69 kg – 125 kg made $350 - $430, Angus cross bulls 111 kg made $545 and beef cross bulls 110 kg made $300.

Weaner Angus cross heifers 106 kg made $490 and beef cross heifers 92 kg – 135 kg made $180 - $300.

Beef cows with calves at foot made $810 - $950.

Friesian boner cows 545 kg - 570 kg made $1.93/kg - $2.14/kg.

In the calf pens, big Friesian bull calves made $125 - $150 and smaller calves made $60 - $90. Big Friesian – Hereford cross bull calves made $180 - $245 and smaller calves made $120 - $150. Angus cross bull calves made $100 - $115. Big Friesian – Hereford cross heifer calves made $150 - $185 and smaller calves made $70 - $120. Angus cross heifer calves made $90 - $200.
