Rongotea Sale Report May 29

The Rongotea sale today was dominated by a large number of in calf cows and heifers reported Darryl Harwood of NZ Farmers Livestock.

2 year Friesian-Hereford cross heifers 510kg made $1320, Angus cross heifers 405kg made $820, and Charolais cross heifers 357kg made $700.

Beef cross heifers 335kg-347kg made $2.09/kg-$2.16/kg, cross bred heifers 298kg-403kg made $1.37/kg-$2.16/kg and Jersey heifers 350kg-425kg made $1.48/kg-$1.67/kg.

18 month Angus bulls 397kg made $990, Friesian bulls 390kg made $780 and cross bred bulls 380kg made $650.

Weaner Friesian bulls 165kg-216kg made $410-$520, Friesian-Hereford cross bulls 118kg-228kg made $350-$550, and cross bred bulls 179kg-235kg made $350-$450.
Weaner Friesian-Hereford cross heifers 126kg-231kg made $370-$550 and beef cross heifers 205kg-262kg made $390-$530.

Cross bred boner cows 532kg-533kg made $1.58/kg-$1.72/kg and Jersey boners 330kg-535kg made $1.25/kg-$1.57/kg.

In calf Friesian cows made $1075- $1500 and in calf cross bred cows made $600-$870.
In calf Friesian heifers made $670-$790.

In the calf pens, Friesian-Hereford bull calves made $100- $210, Angus cross bull calves made $155 and Murray Grey cross bull calves made $200.
