A herd of six runaway horses are on the loose near Okere Falls. Photo / File

Police are responding to a call about six horses on the loose near Okere Falls in Rotorua.

The runaways were reported to be grazing on the side of Maniatutu Rd at 6.21am this morning.

The herd then headed down Whangamoa Drive.

Police were travelling to the scene.
