Simon and Allan Paterson explain the finer points of merino judging at a junior judging competition at Armidale, Gimmerburn recently.

The competition was won by Will Stuart and Sophie Davies was runner-up.

The pair will compete in the national final at the New Zealand Agricultural Show in Christchurch this month.

Mr Stuart was runner-up in last year's national final.

The competition is open to young people aged 25 and under.
