Quad bike crash kills one person near Nelson

A person has died after a quad bike crash in Wakefield near Nelson.

A female has died after a quad bike incident south of Wakefield, near Nelson.

Emergency services were called shortly after 1pm to the incident on Eighty Eight Valley Rd .

Police say a second female who was involved in the crash was airlifted to Nelson Hospital as a precaution.

Ambulance officers said the 22-year-old had suffered minor injuries.

The Serious Crash Unit and WorkSafe both attended the scene.
