Wimbledon farmer Brian Hales, runner-up for Hawke's Bay Person of the Year, is holding an open day at his farm on Monday, January 22 - Wellington Anniversary Day - from 10am to 2pm.
Mr Hales will have his flock of exotic sheep on display, outlining their attributes and heritage.
The flock includes rare breeds such as the Karakul, Gotland, Pitt, Arapawa, Mohaka, East Friesian, Awassi, Assif, New Zealand Marsh, Dorper, Damara, Meatmaster and Jacob sheep.
Mr Hales said he had received many accolades after television's Country Calendar programme and the open day was a way to show his appreciation to everyone.
This included Ray Olsen, who had nominated him for the Person of the Year award.
It will be the first time Mr Olsen has visited the Wimbledon farm.
Water, tea, coffee and exotic sheep-meat sandwiches made by Nola Cafe and Restaurant, Waipawa, will be available, all free thanks to Mr Hales' generosity.
