Leigh Buchanan.

The importance of a well thought-out succession plan is something many farmers put into the "too-hard basket," says Staples Rodway farm accountant, Leigh Buchanan.

"Meaning no steps are put in place for family members working on the farm to succeed into farm ownership."

This Friday, Leigh will be holding a free presentation for farmers on succession planning, to help farmers prepare for the future of their family farm.

The hour-long event will take place at the Stratford War Memorial centre at 11am.

While entry is free, reservations are recommended. To reserve yourspot, call 06 757 3155 or visit Eventbrite.co.nz. Leigh can be contacted 06 765 6949 or by email Leigh.Buchanan@staplestaranaki.co.nz
