Vendors of all classes of stock were smiling yesterday.

Vendors of all classes of stock were smiling yesterday.

Vendors of all classes of stock would have been smiling at yesterday's sale at Stortford Lodge.

Store lambs and cattle rose in price while a big yarding of ewes with lambs at foot continued to be strong. Yearling friesian bulls, which were hard to sell about 18 months ago, were making up to $1042/head.

A feature of the sale was the 215 yearling steers and heifers from Waitara Station, Te Pohue.

Buyers for the yarding of about 500 head came from around Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa and Waikato.
