The Country: The GM of PGG Wrightson Real Estate looks on the year in the rural property and says the market is looking positive for 2017.

Peter Newbold, the General Manager of PGG Wrightson Real Estate caught up with The Country's Jamie Mackay for a 2016 wrap up of rural property and a look into the future.

Newbold says rural real estate is looking good at the end of this year and is predicting positive things for 2017.

Kiwifruit property is excelling but that is indicative of that market according to Peter.

How about dairy? Newbold says he's seeing more "realism" around dairy farm prices but he reckons the market is going to start moving again and will slowly improve.

Sheep and beef properties aren't faring so well at the moment, does Newbold see anything uplifting in their future?
