Fonterra's regional head in Taranaki, Scott Walls spoke to The Country Early Edition's Rowena Duncum saying it's a busy time for the dairy co-op.

Fonterra, Rural Support Trust, Civil Defence and DairyNZ have been working hard to recover from ex Cyclone Gita says Walls, as "a lot of coastal Taranaki has been hit."

Walls says it was already busy before the ex Cyclone Gita hit, as Fonterra was working with MPI to get farmers along to Mycoplasma bovis meetings which were "really well received."

Collections for milk samples start in Taranaki next week on the 26th and 27th February and the second run is on 12th and 13th March.

Also in today's interview - Scott Walls talks about the recent webinar Fonterra held on using technology to farm for the future, and Richie McCaw delivering Milk for Schools in a helicopter.
