DairyNZ recently completed a three week roadshow around New Zealand reaching dairy farmers in eight different regional towns.
Milena Scott, DairyNZ's senior policy advisor for climate change, spoke to The Country's Rowena Duncum on what roadshows were all about.
The aim of the roadshows was to educate farmers about climatechange and the varied mitigation options available right now to reduce biological emissions, as well as to discuss the research underway and the Zero Carbon Bill.
"I thought it went really, really well. We had a lot of positive feedback," says Scott who reports farmers came away from the workshops with a better understanding of climate change.
Stage Two for the Dairy Action for Climate Change (DACC) is being scoped out, as DACC stage one draws to a close.
Scott says the DACC keeps her busy with the aforementioned roadshows as well as running case studies on farms to demonstrate the potential biological emission reductions in a real situation.
