Meanwhile, the Mycoplasma bovis levy consultation process has now closed with a lot of "robust discussions," at DairyNZ meetings said Mackle.
"Farmers were very keen to see real scrutiny about how the money is spent to be effective in eradicating M. bovis, [and] there was a lot of concern expressed about the response to date as well."
Although a lot of progress has been made in the fight against M. bovis, Mackle acknowledges, "we're not out of the woods yet".
