The latest Rabobank Agribusiness Monthly Report contains mainly good news for the New Zealand primary sector.

Chief executive of Rabobank Todd Charteris caught up with The Country's Jamie Mackay to go over the report which is due for release later this week.

Sheep meat is still performing strongly with record prices reports Charteris.

"It's outstanding ... I think to go through that $8 barrier is a real milestone and really positive."

Coarse crossbred wool is still "challenging" says Charteris and farmers can take solace in the high prices "on the meat side" of the sheep industry.
